Once again residents raised concerns with MAKRA in relation to the noise at the construction site on 10th of December as this has now happened twice within 2 weeks (previously on 28th November till 9:05pm). The noise pollution was ongoing past 7:00 pm. MAKRA members raised these concerns with the Project Manager who was not onsite (Henry Construction) highlighting the restrictions as per Construction Code of Practise. The work on site was finally shut down at 8:05pm.
Please be advised that a Temporary one-way traffic system is now in place. details of which can be found on the document PN263 available at the following link https://www.croydon.gov.uk/transportandstreets/parking/rcpr/december-2018
MAKRA has not received any updates in relation to the extended noisy work on 10th December and would request that residents use the below details to raise their concerns with the Croydon Council if the work is continued outside of their construction code of practice working hours. The purpose of the construction code of practice is to ensure that disturbances due to noise, vibration, dust and smoke arising from demolition and construction works on all building sites are kept to an acceptable level. The code of practice restricts noisy work to:
|Monday to Friday||08:00 to 18:00|
|Saturday||08:00 to 13:00|
|Sundays and Bank Holidays||No noisy activities on site at any time|
